Privacy Policy

This policy explains, in simple words, what the OCTORA desktop app accesses, what it stores, and what choices you have. If anything here is unclear, ask us on Telegram: @batmanjaatwhop.

The short version: Your videos stay on your PC and in your own accounts. We never sell your data. We never use it for ads. Optional anonymous stats are only sent if you say yes, and you can switch them off anytime.

1. What OCTORA is

OCTORA is a desktop application (Windows) that helps creators upload and schedule short videos. It connects to services you choose — such as YouTube and Google Drive — using your own accounts.

2. Data the app accesses through your connections

When you click "Connect" and sign in, the app receives permission (OAuth) to do only what its features need:

YouTube: upload videos to your channel, and read basic channel/video information (titles, IDs, upload status) so it can show your queue and confirm uploads succeeded.
Google Drive: create an "OCTORA" folder in your Drive and upload your video files there as backup.
Instagram / Facebook / TikTok: connect your accounts so the app can publish on your behalf, once each platform approves the connection.

You grant these permissions directly to Google/Meta/TikTok in your browser. You can revoke them anytime from your Google account (myaccount.google.com → Security → Third-party access) or the equivalent settings page of each platform — revoking stops the app from accessing that account immediately.

3. Google API Services — limited use

OCTORA's use of information received from Google APIs follows the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements:

Data from Google APIs is used only to provide the app's features (uploading your videos, backing them up to your Drive, showing upload status).
It is never sold, never rented, and never shared with advertisers or data brokers.
It is never used for advertising, ad targeting, or building advertising profiles.
It is never used to train general machine-learning or AI models.
Human access to this data is limited to what is needed to operate the app and support you, and only when you ask for help.

4. What stays on your computer

Your video files, your titles, descriptions, schedules and settings are stored locally on your own PC. We do not copy your videos to our servers. Files are deleted from your PC only after the app has verified they were uploaded successfully (or kept as backup if you choose that option).

5. Optional anonymous usage statistics

The app can send small, anonymous usage statistics — such as the app version, which platforms you connected, and how many uploads succeeded — to help us support you faster and improve the app.

This is off unless you explicitly allow it in the app's first-run permission screen.
You can turn it off anytime in Settings → Seller connection.
When off, the app makes zero such network calls.
These stats never include your videos, file contents, passwords, or tokens.

6. License validation

To enforce the 1-PC-1-license rule, the app checks your license key against a fingerprint of your machine. Only a one-way hash of that fingerprint is ever transmitted — never raw hardware details — and it is used solely to confirm that the license is running on the machine it was issued for.

7. What we never do

We never sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for their own use.
We never use your data for advertising.
We never access accounts you did not connect yourself.
We never collect data secretly — every data flow in the app is disclosed here and in the in-app permission screens.

8. Data retention

Anonymous usage statistics, if you allowed them, are kept only as long as needed to operate and improve the service. OAuth tokens are stored only on your PC and are deleted when you click "Disconnect" in the app or revoke access on the platform's site.

9. Your rights

You can, at any time: disconnect any platform inside the app; revoke access on the platform's own settings page; turn off usage statistics; or ask us to delete any data we hold about you by contacting support. We will act on deletion requests promptly.

10. Children

OCTORA is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from them.

11. Changes to this policy

If this policy changes in an important way, we will update the date at the top and highlight the change inside the app. Continuing to use OCTORA after a change means you accept the updated policy.
